Asset Finance Policy is an independent regulatory affairs consultancy dedicated to serving the UK asset finance industry. Established in March 2014, the firm has supported over 100 clients ranging from sole trader asset finance brokers to European banks. A full range of regulatory services are offered, including monitoring and lobbying on prospective new policy and regulation, advice on applying for Government schemes that support the business lending market, and practical guidance on complying with FCA and Government regulation.
The firm was established in March 2014 by Julian Rose. Julian was the Finance and Leasing Association's Head of Asset Finance from 2008 to 2014. He previously worked in regulation for five years with the Competition Commission and the Financial Reporting Council. He has also been a management consultant with KPMG and PwC, and worked in industry with NCR and United Parcel Service. Julian works with a panel of independent specialists to meet client’s requirements across all areas of the asset finance industry.
Asset Finance Policy’s philosophy is that good policy and regulation should work for finance companies and their customers, solving problems that would otherwise stop the market working as well as it should. The best way for firms to influence new policy and regulation is by getting involved early and providing relevant evidence and constructive suggestions to the regulators. With strong experience in both designing regulation and lobbying to influence it, Asset Finance Policy is uniquely positioned to help asset finance firms to turn regulation from a problem to an opportunity.
